Cédric Moerenhout is a partner at eMotio.law. He was admitted to the Antwerp Bar in 2003 and has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 2011.

He is passionate about mobility matters and has been working in this sector since the beginning of his career.

Cédric is a transport lawyer, with a focus on multimodal transport and logistics:

• he advises freight forwarders and cargo handlers in air transport disputes with airlines or customs authorities
• he assists inland waterway transport operators facing logistical challenges • he assists carriers and owners of damaged cargo in international road transport
• he is involved in rail transport disputes
• he represents shipowners, charterers, cargo owners and insurance companies in cases of maritime claims

Cédric is also an experienced dispute resolution lawyer in industrial and commercial matters. He has a strategic vision and proposes pragmatic out-of-the box solutions.

Cédric is a member of the Belgian Maritime Law Association and the Brussels Port Community.

Cédric regularly participates in international sailing events, representing the Royal Belgian Sailing Club as a qualified skipper, which leads him to give lectures and to write articles for specialised journals on commercial yachting, yacht chartering and registration and skipper’s liability.

Cédric graduated from the University of Leuven (KUL) in 2000. He also holds an LL.M. from Queen Mary University of London obtained in 2001, as well as a postgraduate Master’s degree in Maritime Law and Economics from the University of Antwerp (UAntwerp) obtained in 2002.
