Cédric Moerenhout is a partner at eMotio.law who was admitted to the Antwerp Bar in 2003 and who has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 2011.
He is passionate about mobility matters and has been working in this sector since the beginning of his career.
Cédric is a transport lawyer, with a focus on multimodal transport and logistics:
- he advises freight forwarders and cargo handlers in air transport disputes with airlines or customs authorities
- he assists inland waterway transport operators facing logistical challenges
- he acts for carriers and owners of damaged cargo in international road transport
- he is involved in rail transport disputes
- he represents shipowners, charterers, cargo owners and insurance companies in cases of maritime claims
Cédric is also an experienced dispute resolution lawyer in industrial and commercial matters. He has a strategic vision and proposes pragmatic out-of-the box solutions.
He is a member of the Belgian Maritime Law Association and the Brussels Port Community.
Representing the Royal Belgian Sailing Club as a qualified skipper and race officer, Cédric regularly participates in international sailing events, which leads him to give lectures and to write articles for specialised journals on yacht chartering and registration, Racing Rules of Sailing and skipper’s liability.
Cédric graduated from the University of Leuven (KUL) in 2001 attending his third master at Queen Mary University of London, as well as a postgraduate Master’s degree in Maritime Law and Economics from the University of Antwerp (UAntwerp) obtained in 2002.
