Thierry Ghilain is a partner at eMotio.law and has been member of the Brussels Bar since 2000.

Thierry has been advising clients in the automotive sector for more than 25 years.

Thierry specialises in commercial law and corporate law:

• he assists clients in drafting sale, lease, services and distribution agreements
• he advises shareholders and directors on the incorporation of companies and on matters relating to corporate governance and directors’ liability.

Thierry also specialises in dispute resolution, with a focus on business and environmental criminal law:

• he assists domestic and international companies and individuals (company directors, self-employed and employees) in the conduct of proceedings
• he assists clients in assessing their criminal risks and ensuring compliance with the latest regulations
• he provides support to clients during administrative and criminal investigations (requests for access to files, additional duties and lifting seizures) and negotiations of settlement agreements with the judicial authorities
• he helps clients to implement whistleblowing processes

Thierry has been accredited for criminal proceedings before the Supreme Court in 2018.

Thierry graduated from the University of Liège (ULg) in 1997. He also holds a postgraduate Master’s degree in European Law from the University of Liège and the University of Maastricht
